It's apparent to me that you and your management team are very careful in selecting employees. It's very hard to turn the care of a loved one over to strangers. It is comforting to know that all the staff knows the residents. When I come in and your office manager Irena tells a story about my mother I know that people are connecting to the residents and are interested in their well-being. Chris and Kenny, the two Life Enrichment guys, are delightful activities personnel. Their personalities are uplifting and they show genuine caring interest in the residents. Even though they might be engaged with residents they always acknowledge visitors and have special comments to make about the resident we have come to visit. Physical surroundings are attractive and well maintained. I had the occasion to visit Mom out on the garden patio which is lovely. The med techs and caregivers are very approachable and willing to talk with me whenever I have a question. They are always willing to help solve a problem that I bring to them. Thank you for everything you do to keep Mom and all residents comfortable, both physically and emotionally.

My father was a resident at Emerson House for two years and I can say without hesitation that his care was outstanding. There are many caregivers who have been at Emerson House for many years — a reflection of a work environment where both they and their work is valued. I spent months searching for a facility that would care for my father in a compassionate and consistent way and I found it in Emerson House. They became like my own family and they cared for my father as though he was their family. I count my blessings that a place like Emerson House exists in Portland. I would happily recommend it to anyone.
