Emerson House Boise Staff

Emerson House focuses on surrounding each resident and his or her family with a diverse array of carefully trained staff members, each specializing in meeting key needs. Complementing the work of our well-trained resident assistants is an on-site staff that includes the Executive Director, Food Services Director, Health Services Director (a registered nurse), Life Enrichment Director, Life Enrichment Weekend Assistant, Office Manager, Laundry Aide, Housekeeper and Maintenance Director. These caring associates ensure that Emerson House delivers a high level of service while maintaining a loving, homelike environment.

Kathy Hartley: R.N. Health Services Director
With a diploma in Nursing from the Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing in Spokane, Washington, Kathy has actively practiced nursing throughout the last thirty years in several genres of medicine including the psychiatric field. Her interest turned to geriatric medicine where she finds great joy in helping the elderly and this is evident as you see her interact with our residents here at Emerson House. In her spare time, Kathy loves to spend time reading, with family and friends, and with her loving pets.

Teri LaCoy: Office Manager
With a bachelor's degree in Communications/English from Boise State University, Teri comes to us with over twenty years of customer service experience. It is this experience that guides her as she serves as the first point of contact for family members, healthcare workers and other guests that enter through the doors of Emerson House. Invoice billing, insurance claim processing, as well as human resources are just some of the main functions of her position. In her spare time, Teri enjoys cooking, reading and spending time with her family and dog.

Alisa Hecker: Food Services Director
Originally from the Midwest, Alisa has an extensive background in fine dining restaurants, as well as caterings of all sizes. Cooking for more than thirty years, her experience extends to inventory control and staff management. She finds great enjoyment in kitchen organization, menu design, food presentation and planning, all of which are very apparent in the quality of work Alisa brings to Emerson House. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with family, attending church, photography and various arts and crafts.

Barbara Stanhouse: Life Enrichment Director
Barbara has been working in assisted living and dementia care since 1998 and with Emerson House since 2003. She has passionately believed for a long time what current research is now showing: that a well planned activity program is crucial the quality of life for those with dementia. We are very fortunate to have her. When not spending quality time with our residents, Barbara enjoys baking, decorating and spending time with her family.

Shaundra Turner: Maintenance Director
Shaundra comes to us with vast experience in the construction industry having started out remodeling houses with her dad before moving on to work for a builder in the construction of 140 condos from the ground up. Her favorite part of the trade is tiling. Shaundra is responsible for maintaining the inside and outside of Emerson House, along with the landscaping…she's our 'jack of all trades'. When not working, she enjoys hunting, fishing, snowboarding, camping and hanging out with her husband and kids.

Eric Collett: Executive Director

Eric CollettA Boise native, Eric Collett graduated summa cum laude from the University of Utah with a B.S. in interpersonal and group communication, a minor in psychology and extensive training in classical piano and saxophone performance. He worked in the assisted living industry in Salt Lake City, UT for nine years as a Program Director and Executive Director before moving back to Boise to be the Executive Director of Emerson House. In his spare time, Eric enjoys spending time with his family, reading, music, theater, skiing and gardening.

Of his role at Emerson House, Eric said, "With songs to sing, stories to share and wisdom from a lifetime of experience, seniors are a community treasure. I feel honored to have the privilege of working to make a difference in our residents’ lives every day."

A group of caring and dedicated leaders, the management team at Emerson House knows that success is based on consistently working to serve the needs of individual residents and their families through effective communication, compassionate service and timely follow-through. Emerson House also recognizes the importance of whole-person wellness and is committed to offering a full curriculum of programs and services to meet the physical, spiritual, intellectual, emotional and cultural needs of our residents.
